The Legislative Branch

Unlike what most people think, making the law is not the president's job. The legislative branch is responsible for making the law and representing the people's voice.

Congress

Congress has two parts:

1) The House of Representatives

2) The Senate

*Why are there two?? I'm already confused.*

Don't worry it's very easy.

1. The House of Representatives- # of representatives based on population of state.

2. The Senate- Small states were like "tf, we have one rep"= birth of senate. Each state gets two senators, no matter the population size.

Both are supposed to work together to create laws that represent our voice.

SO...if you don't vote for people in congress, you have no say in any law/potential law.
